Cadet Program Affiliation: Lieutenant, Royal
Canadian Army Cadets
I am Rob, just plain Rob. I wear many hats, so
writing a bio would be extremely difficult and lengthy.
My full name is Robert William Gill. I am currently on the SHR at
the rank of Lt(L). Officially I am a member of the Army Cadet
League of Canada under the MofU, volunteering my time as the TrgO
for 2804 RCACC Casselman, On. I am also a pain in the butt for my
town councils and a restaurant owner. That's just for starters.
Most importantly, I am husband to my wonderful wife, Tania, and
father to three amazing children (Raphael 7, Tatiana 3 and Kieran
2mths).
I started off my cadet career in 1987 at 3018 in Orleans, On. I
retired, having done almost everything I could, as one of the last
cadet officers (Maj) in 1993. I joined the Reg F for a very brief
time but didn't quite enjoy the experience. I decided to join the
CIC and I am extremely pleased with my decision. I have worked at
four different cadet units, all army, all as TrgO.
I am extremely proud of my decision to become a member of the
League. It allows me to do incredible things for my Cadet Corps
which I could not do as a serving member of the CF. I have coffee
with the Mayors, the MPPs and my MPs. I can politely side step the
chain of command when necessary, always within the best interests
of the cadets. Occasionally I get my fingers slapped, but no
scarring.
My hobbies? I am a jack of all trades. I fix my own car, build my
own furniture, do my own plumbing and electrical............ but
don't get any ideas. My honey-do list is longer than my
arm. |
