Cadet Program Affiliation: Probationary Petty Officer, United Kingdom Sea Cadet Corps

James Copeland joined the UK Sea Cadet Corps at Training Ship Hastings SCC in April 2002 as a 10 Year old Junior Sea Cadet, partaking in Marine and Sea Cadet Activities. In Jan 2004, having reaching 12 and had a thrilling time as a Junior he was enrolled as a Sea Cadet.

James has been on many exciting courses during his time but mainly specialised in Supply & Secretariat where his most notable roles were as Administration Staff Cadet on International Summer Camp 2007 and Unit Administration Officer for a period of 12 months. Other areas he has indulged in include First Aid and Marine Engineering.

In his final year as a Cadet James was appointed Lord Lieutenants Cadet (East Sussex) 2008 to 2009 and awarded his Petty Officer Cadet Rate, that being the pinnacle Rate that any cadet can achieve. In November 2009 he turned 18 and become a Probationary Petty Officer (SCC) and a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer with his main responsibility being the Training of New Entrants to the unit.

Outside of Cadets James is Studying in his last year of A Levels with aspirations having applied to university to study Electronic or Systems Engineering to open the door to a Career in the Royal Fleet Axillary as a Systems Engineering Officer.

James joined Cadet World in February of 2007, and took over moderation of the British Cadet Forum in November of 2009.
