StaffThe staff at Cadet Summer Training Centres is comprised mostly of Canadian Forces Cadet Instructors Cadre Branch officers, augmented by Primary Reserve and Regular Force personnel and Civilian Instructors assisted by Staff Cadets. Together they fill divisional, instructional, and support positions. CoursesCadets apply for two, three, six, and eight-week courses designed to complement, supplement or support training offered in the Phase, Star, or Level programs at the local corps or squadron. Two-weekThe only two-week course is the elementally distinct General Training course, designed to introduce cadets to CSTC life and training opportunities. Three-weekThree-week courses offer an introduction to a variety of subjects, usually with the potential for a follow-up six-week course. Six-weekSix-week courses either offer a continuation of a subject introduced in a three-week course, or operate as a stand-alone, covering an advanced skill or qualification. Until 2009, all Army Cadet Leader courses were six weeks in duration. All Army Cadet Leader Instructors are six weeks in duration, with the CLI-Marksman course as an exception. Seven-weekThe only two seven-week courses are: Power Pilot Scholarship, for Air Cadets, at the five Regional Gliding Schools across Canada and the Army Cadet Leader Instructor - Marksman course at Connaught NACSTC Eight-weekThe only eight-week course is: Marine Engineering, for Sea Cadets, at HMCS QUADRA.
