National Naval Reunion 2004 March

Considering more than half the people who post in the ANZAC forums are in the RAN/ANC, most of you would know that the National Naval Reunion 2004 is on. On Saturday the 7th of August, the NNR2004 March will take place. I was wondering . . .

1. What cadet units will be there?
2. What you are doing?
3. Can we do anything special?
4. What uniform are you wearing?

Units Attending:
TS CONDAMINE, TS SYDNEY, TS SIRIUS, NUSHIP KANIMBLA, TS NEPEAN, TS HAWKESBURY.

Uniform for staff is W2, Uniform for Cadets is W7 (this is black pants, white shirt, black tie, utility jacket with rank badges on the sleeve & SMN sri or ANC Flashes, rate & cuff rate badges sewn on).

The ANC contingent (stand fast 3 cadets from CONDAMINE) is marching behind the RAN & RANR Uniformed Contingent and in front of the non uniformed contingents. AB Cheng will be carrying the Colour with LS Sebbens & AB Janes carrying the Banner at the front of the Parade.

Cadets for some reason are to muster in the city at 0745 for a 0900 step off (I am betting the march won't step off until 0930ish). Then there is a Commemorative Ceremony at the War Memorial commencing at 1300 concluding at 1345. There is a possibility that cadets will be able to have a tour over HMAS BALLARAT at Wharf 8 between the March and the commemorative ceremony.

*runs around looking for uniform* and my hair can be neat... with lots and lots of hair gel, and possibly drenching it beforehand...

And lots and lots of bobby pins and a hair net or 2

I'm sure you've got your own, but I have hair spray and gel too at home

My hair is twice the length it was on ACT in January, so I'll have to put it in a bun. None of our cadets have their rank sewn onto their jackets, sorry! But its good to see that we are going, I don't think I've seen ANYONE from another units on any cadet stuff since ACT in January.

Can we have a NEPEAN banner?

Ranks on sleeves. I think that only our WSC has rank on his arms at the moment, because we had a supply of PO's insignia. I'll still be wearing my LS SRIs that day, because I can't get my hands on a suitable rank badge.

Just a little note, the Australian Army Cadet Band Sydney will be performing there, and there are bound to be quite a number of the Nasho's Association there too. If you see an army band with one sailor in the drum corps, you know that it is me!

No-one is wearing those collars on their Utility Jackets? Good!

The Army Cadet band is playing????????? Since When??????????????

The Royal Australian Navy Band is playing for the March. Why would we get an Army Cadet band to play at a Naval Reunion when we have the finest military band in the southern hemisphere playing?

Don't make any sense to me...... hmmmm can't see them in the order of parade either. *shrugs*

There was an open offer to uniformed bands before the RAN band confirmed that they were marching. Can't they get away with it - I mean, there is almost always a sailor in the ranks in that band!

Thumbs down

I think its pretty stupid that the pongos are playing, navy dummer or not, its a NAVY thing. I'm all for tri-service, but this is the National NAVAL Reunion, not some joint service BS.
