NRL Finals 2004!!!
LAAAAAAAAAAADIIIIIIIIIIES AAAAAAAAND GEENTLEMEEEEEEEN!!!!
It's now the business end of the season, and every team has given 110% to get to where they are. The real question is, who will bring their A-game and manage that big team effort to get that little bit further than everybody else.
Who is going to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat?? Will it be the Doggies defending their home turf??? Who will send the message, serve the notice, make the statement and show the character, poise, pride, resiliency, all for the fans so that they can savour the victory???
Who will be outrun, outclassed, outplayed and come up a little short? Who will lose their focus, dig themselves a hole, shoot themselves in the foot and not have the ball bounce their way on the day???
Translation: It's time for the NRL finals, everyone has done well to get where they are but who will be better than the rest and win, and who will be crap loser team??
Who do you think will be in the Grand Final???
Pick one of the Team A Vs Team B options as who will be in the grand final, and the single team options are who you think will win the grand final. It's multiple choice so you should put in 2 options, one of each type.
I would just like to thank Tony Squires and www.sportscliche.com for inspiring me and helping me come up with so many sporting cliches in one post.

Krisit!!!!! You have far too much time on your hands!!!!! I want a Cowboys v Storm Grandfinal! Outside chanc I know....but after the Cowboys effort last night I want to see them go all the way. The Roosters stand in their path next week, but it should be a closer mathc than it is on paper.
Why Melbourne? Well its either them or the Bullwogs, and there is no way I want that team of cheats near a grandfinal, and their is no way I want to see there fans who are a lower form of life to have anything to celebrate.Sean Dalton

It was Margaret and Kim....
I have to say, even with my blind devotion to the Roosters, it's going to be a tough game....helps that the Cowboys coach was the coach before Sticky Ricky at the Roosters!!!
I'm not sure If I'm game to say I think it will be a Cowboys/Bullwogs final yet!Kristi Ruus

C'mon.... lets see a repeat of last year's Grand Final.... with a turn around of the result. Although I must admit the Panther's season this year is not deserving of a place in the Grand Final but *shrugs* thats finals football for you.

Actually I said I haven't decided if the Roosters will beat the Cowboys yet....either way I think the Doggies will definitely be in the final, though I would like to see a rematch of last year....no god darn Scott Sattler for Penrith this year!!!!

Should be one hell of a Dirty Grand Final. I was kinda dissappointed in some of the play that the Chooks came out with last night. I will be very surprised to see Luke Ricketson take to the field next week after a incredibly cheap shot on someone that wasn't lookinh, in a scuffle that he wasn't involved in. Hodges might be in trouble too.
That being said the Cowboys held their own, with Croker (I think) being sent into ga ga land on more than one occasion.
A tight game that did really come down to the wire. Should a scrum have been packed after the final bell? Yeah probably. Would it have made a difference? Who knows.
All in all it was great to see the Moo Jockeys get so far. The whole media has been calling it a "Dream Run" but the entire team has worked very hard to get where they got, they created their own luck and proved their worth. As for the Grand Final, as annoyed with them that I am at the moment. Go the Roosters.

I don't think there was too much in that shot by Ricketson, it looked like he meant to push the guy across his chest and missed (it was an open hand, not a fist)....but he did the wrong thing by connecting with the guys face, so if he's charged, he's charged.
Match review committee is looking for more evidence on the Michael Crocker/Luke O'Donnell thing that sent Crocker into la la land.
Because I was getting food ready for our BBQ I didn't see the first half, but the last 15 minutes.....AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGH......I have to go to church this weekend!!!
The Cowboys were awesome, they did a great job, and they have a lot to be proud about...they'd never been higher than 11th on the table before, and I have to say that I would have been proud to cheer for them instead of the Roosters on Sunday if we had've lost yesterday.Kristi Ruus

Ok so who is going to take the titles tomorrow?
I am tipping the Roosters in the Jersey Flegg, Roosters in the Premier League and I really can't decide with the First Grade.... leaning towards the Roosters cos I hate the Doggies... but I think they will have their work cut out for them Ricketson was definately a bigger blow to the Roosters than Price was to the Doggies.Jeremey Atkinson

Whats this I hear about drums and teams flags being banned from the stadium?
-
1st October 2004 22:58 #16
Bull dogs fan have a habit of bringing drums whistles and stupid amounts of flags to games. Most other fans find the drums and whistles incredibly annoying! I kinda agree, they just make stupid amounts of noise all through out the game to the point that it is over bearing. No other team does it apart from the Bullwogs fans.
The ban is to make the day enjoyable for everyone who goes, which is fair enough.Sean Dalton

We were driving back to Sydney from down the south coast this afternoon and we happened to go through riverwood, padstow, Lakemba all that area. Every second car was plastered with stickers and streamers flags flying out of windows, horns blaring, etc. They just had extraordinary amounts of streamers and general crap on their cars and houses.
