    Summer Training 2016

I haven't seen much happening around here recently so lets do the classic summer camp thread. Where are you going or hoping to go this summer?

I myself found out last night that I have been accepted for the Power Pilot Scholarship! Not sure yet where I'm going but very excited nonetheless!

Got my paperwork for Advanced Aerospace last week. Pretty excited to be going out of province. A couple friends are also headed o St. Jean so it should be pretty fun.

I'd really be crushed if I don't go to camp this year.

I applied for staff. Literally every position that I have experience for (well I didn't apply for Blackdown staff but if I get an offer from there that would be cool). I just have a pretty mediocre record on course so I hope that doesn't affect my chances.

Oh wow I feel extraordinarily awkward. I'm going to Blackdown for pipes, it's my first camp.

I've never staffed but I do know that you are practically isolated from the outside world even as staff there. Not much in terms of mall runs or fast food joints in Borden.

Yeah I can't really think of anything but in general be relatable and kind, but not soft with no standard. Be true to your word and think things through.

DCIC in Vernon! ARMIC was my first choice as marksmanship has always been my forte, but this should still be a cool experience regardless

Not at all actually! Staff goes to Barrie on leave so mall runs and fast food is rampant LOL!

Idk I just heard from some staff cadets last year but it's probably bias on their part

I did basic band at Blackdown, if its anything like that... You're gonna have a good time, they do care a lot for standards though (drill, dress and bunks), not quite as much as a drill course but you need to be up there. You will be playing a lot of music at that course (hours upon hours a day, week), however, be aware that there will be many beginners who are starting new instruments, so don't nag them too hard for that. Just make friends and be prepared for a pretty cool summer
