    Cadet Stereotypes

Like all races, nationalities, genders, etc, Cadets also has its stereotypes. These are some I've heard/collected from the past few months, feel free to post any that you know of.

None of these stereotypes are true, obviously.

-All Cadets do is just stand there and be yelled at.
-Cadets march, and do nothing else.
-Air Cadets is the only Cadets Organization that exist.
-Army Cadets is the only Cadets Organization that exist.
-Sea Cadets is the only Cadets Organization that exist.
-There are no ranks, we just go for a certain amount of years and quit.
    -Cadets is no fun.
    -All uniforms are blue
    -All uniforms are green
    -All uniforms are black
-Cadets is like Scouts with a drill sergeant (i have to refrain from strangling whoever says Cadets is like Scouts)
-All Cadets go to the Forces afterwards when they age out

Thats all I can think of at the minute... feel free to add yours

I thought that this would be stereotypes within cadets...

    - The Cocky SLC Graduate
    - The Asian Drill God
    - The Attractive Male Staff Cadet
    - CFL (Corporal For Life)
    - The Super Cadet (at least 3 medals, WO1, sweeps the awards at every ACR)

Disclaimer: These are stereotypes. Jokes. Also, I realize that they're all air, I'm not really familiar with any others.

Can't think of any stereotypes really except...
    People that just do pushups
People that just wear a uniform and stand around

    Stereotypes within cadets:
The kid that doesn't shower or brush his teeth or wash his clothes
    The MIRC (MIR Commando)
    The good at everything kid
    The suck up
The cocky kid that thinks he/she is good at everything
    The cryer

Faker - Puts on a "good cadet" show for the officers, and his senior cadets, but when everybody with more chevron than him, or anybody with stripes leave the room, that all goes to hell.

We had a Sergeant like this, but the RSM dealt with him. XD

A poem about the trades pretty much sums things up:
    Boatswains are pretty.
    Gunners are dirty.
    Sailors are flirty.
    Band sucks!

    Now, stereotypes about cadets:
    • People don't last long in cadets
    • Cadets is no fun
    • Cadets don't make good students (what my dad thinks)
    • Nobody likes cadets
    • Cadets are for wussies and just a way to get cheap community service hours
    • Being in cadets deprives kids of their creativity (what my mom thinks)

i had to miss a day of class for a shooting practice cause we had our thing the next day and I was captain of the team, and since that class, this was last year, my religion teacher told the whole class i was shooting people! I got so mad at her but i was like yeh w/e ... and then everytime i missed a class she said i was out shooting people!!

as well with this crazy teacher of mine, once she found out i was a cadet, she told the rest of the class that I lived in the camping section at walmart!!

and she wasn't joking about these either! shes wacked!

Well, they had burgers at vernon now and then, and they were dripping.

But I really did enjoy a lot of the food there that summer, despite what some may say.

Eh, glad Vernon's got decent food... the Quadra galley has been known to send people to hospital, and is, unquestionably, responsible for supporting many, many local restaurants over the summer. Plus the quarter-ton of pizza delivered nightly...
