Yeah, I am. My school assembly is on Monday and there will be me with the flag, and another from my core piping. And on the Tuesday, I'll be doing Cenotaph Guard.

Why are you listed as a Corporal but you have the avatar of being a Sergeant?

today is my rememberance day ceremony, it went well. at our school the veterans carry the flags and we stand of to the side, at attention and salute were appropriate

its hilarious after the ceremony people come up to you and say "how can you stay still for that long" lol has anyone else gotton that?

I'm not army, but I do think this a sort of tri-service thread, so I'm gonna post
I'm most certainly wearing my uniform to my school on Monday. Our entire sqn was given persmission to do so.
Oddly enough, starting Saturday I'm in uniform for at least one portion of the day for the next 5.
    Saturday I'm selling poppies,
Sunday I'm attending my church's Rememberance Day service (which I got permission from my CO to wear my uniform to), and selling poppies afterwards.
Monday, I'm wearing it to school.
    Tuesday to the actual parade
and Wednesday is my parade night.
That's a lot of uniform care in the next five days :|
    Oh well, I love it

I was in uniform yesterday and today, and I will be tomorrow and Tuesday, all for Remembrance Day ceremonies.

Honestly. I am so disappointed from my school.
I think it's the most dumbest school in the world.
Honestly denying a cadet to do anything as his remembrance day ceremony.
    Not letting him do anything.
That BS and I'm taking it hard.
    This is ******* me off.

I was looking forward to it for like a month or so being in my uniform and doing something. Anything like carrying the flag, helping and stuff, but nothing.
Because "they are all covered", and not by cadets may I mention, more like other stuff.
But no, they couldn't spear a space or one cadet do something.
It's so depressing and disappointing from the school.
I'm still thinking of going in my uniform though.
    Their loss Right?
When exactly did you approach the teacher in charge about helping with your schools ceremony?

For me, two weeks ago. I sat in through some planning and provided input as well. Should go well.

Just wear your uniform to school, and don't make a big deal out of it.

Whining about it (like you are now) only makes you look bad.

EDIT: Or better yet, put on your uniform and go to a local ceremony in your community. Won't your corps be parading anyway?

You still haven't answered the question about when you approached the person organizing this.

it's probably a better idea to remove the Sgt designation from your Username - makes it less of a hassle when you get promoted.

    Hmmm...

Thats a good point actually. But I've already sent the request for the name change, so...If I ever get promoted again, I'll just request the name change to Warrant. =P

And forgive my bad engrish. Fixed.

My highschool spent over a month planning theirs back in the day, but that was because we (the cadets involved) asked for a few practice sessions so we could work out where to wheel, etc when marching on the flags/wreaths.

Still ended in a kerfluffle, as WE were the only ones practicing the whole program. The band & choir practiced their singing/playing, but never attended the sessions we invited them to, so when we did "present-arms", it was their cue to sing "Oh Canada" (as per the program), but we ended up standing there for 3 minutes, saluting, while they stood around waiting for what came next. Then mad scramble as the choir ran onto the stage to start singing... (you could hear the "Oh Sh**" moment)

The flag-party commander gave the choir organizer quite an earful afterwards.

Craziest RD school event for me was in Jr. High. I'd been in cadets for about a year, and one cadet from each element was chosen to lay wreaths. That year we had a wicked snowstorm, and other than a few teachers, the 3 of us were the only participants who showed up (there were others who showed, but they weren't involved in the ceremony itself). Each of us lived near the school, and had trudged through rather deep snow (in uniform!) to get to school... So we performed a really short version of the presentation.
