Being from Nova Scotia I must say that I am sick to death about hearing about unfortunate events like this on our roads. It is to the point where you can not watch the evening news without witnessing the aftermath of what is one of the worst things that could happen to anybody.

Driving home from Cape Breton earlier this week I was appalled by the condition of our roadways. It’s hard to believe that even three days after a moderate snow fall, on a day with little no wind some parts of our roadways were still covered with enough snow for an 18 Wheeler to glide off the road creating long delays and injury.

I believe the death of Jillian could have been prevented. My heart bleeds for her surviving family and especially for all of the young people who needlessly had their lives turned upside down having to deal with the loss of a friend.

Please everyone, if it is snowing even a little bit; do not drive. The amount of lives lost in 2007 alone due to driving in such conditions is heartbreaking and truly unnecessary.

Jillian had just joined cadets this September.
She got cadet of the month for our corps in November.
She was planning on applying for sail tg1 at acadia or ontario.

I just heard from my mom that not only did jillian and her sister pass away, but so did her Mother. Her Stepfather survived though, but it's sad because he'll probably never be the same ever again.

3 car accidents, 2 plane crashes, 1 in his sleep for total of 6... just from our small world that is the cadet movement. In the cadet world though, we all have something in common. I should change my count to 7, and send you my condolences for the loss to you, your corps, and family involved. I'm not religious, and don't pray, but I can certainly try
