Thread: New Cadet Boots

  1. #21
If you really want to complain try to get a pair of brand new hobnail, leather boots to shine! Granted they do look like plastic when shone you need to us a variant on the polish. Might i recommend Brown or Neutral. They are like anyother boot that is fresh out of the box, they take time and lots of polish. (DO they even have welts?) And these boots being in the CF i have yet to see a member of the forces in a pair of them, recruit or not.

They just came into circulation a few months ago. Not that many CF members wear boots on a regular basis, and most will probably stick with their old boots until they wear out. CF members do get them, and I have seen them being worn.

Yeah, I've never heard of them. I'm gonna stick with my nice shiny parade boots, my feet aren't going to grow in the next 3 years. Or the next 30 for that matter.

They look nice and comfortable. Some one eventually will find somehow to shine them to black glass. I think somehow, some one will find out how to get a crisp bang in the new boots to.

    strange and ironic..:S

ahaha..i find this so ironic..i ordered smaller cadets boots awhile ago...and tonight at rifle drill i got to see these new..."things.." they're more feminine i think...which is kinda good, but i'm not sure if i like them or not.....they are like parade boots with a combat boot remix....they r quite comfy tho...but do have quite a strange feel to them...ready bout how difficult they are to shine makes me even more determined to make them grand..lol..omg..i never knew i could have such a long conversation about a boot..:s this is horrible.....i need a life...ahaha....

It's new footware, not the Black Death. If you do end up with the new boots, I suggest you salute, about face, and make do.

It's not that drastic a change. In 5 years, nobody will even remember the old boots.

And you know what? They're coming in anyway.

They're boots. Its not a big deal. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the old ones, but apparently DND disagreed. So new ones are coming down, big whoop.

The Gortex WWB's the CF are given also have nice grips.. HOWEVER they dont mix well with snow and ice... mainly cuz the make of the sole. one of my officers told me a near death expirience getting off his cougar with them. so if they are made from a similar material be sure your unit has alot of CF-98s.

i perfer the old ones, will probably get the new type when i go in for my DEUs sometime in the next few months, but will stick to what i have slaved over and know is reliable when the time comes
