Being a New cadet and doing many Activities will get someone to Dislike you... I don't know, it just happens... It's kind of a Weird phenomenon if you ask me. (I still have some Flight Staff that are on off terms with me, And I don't really know why...)

I understand where you're coming from, Despite the Differences in Elements.

And the best Advice I can probably give you, Is to Try your Hardest, And prove yourself.

Proving yourself to be the correct Choice and Exceeding all Given Expectations set.

As someone who Is not a Bandie, But shows Interest in Drum Major Positions, I can't give you a lot of Advice, It's not really my trade...

    But I wish you luck.

Just in case your unit does not have a copy, this is a hand book with all of the info you need for the proper way to signal and other good info for band drill in general. Everything inhere is Canadian.

And if you want to learn to do throws and flourishing with the mace then here is a YouTube page dedicated to it. the drill and signals portion is mainly for American School and University bands but everything else it very useful. Its all labeled by skill level so you will have a basic idea of what to start with first.

If by any chance it is a Pipe Band. This is the manual I used and its used by Pipe Bands all over the world.

best of luck and if you have any question, feel free to ask, Ill be glad to help.
