HMCS Ojibwa (Project Ojibwa)

Rating: 3 votes, 4.33 average.
So today my unit 272, got to go aboard of our submarine HMCS Ojibwa, or now know as Project Ojibwa. The submarine is being made into a museum. Some of the actually crew of HMCS Ojbiwa uphold this project. Anyways our day was full of cleaning, pictures and interviews. I have to say being inside the submarine. Was really fun. Really tight. But we had 50 people in it at once. It worked out. it was really fun. The project is set to open up on Canada Day. As of now, the PA will only allow external pictures on Social media, so we shall follow those wishes. As the submarine is still classified as "Active" in the eyes of the DnD until further notice. I have to say the cadets did have a lot of fun. You can hear them throughout the sub.

Is HMCS Ojibwa a Victoria-class submarine? The bow appears different compared to other Victoria-class submarines I've seen. I'm curious because I didn't know that the Canadian navy had more than one type of combat submersibles.

HMCS Ojibwa is from the "Oberon Class" of subs that was is service with the RCN 1965-1998 before being replaced by the newer (but used) "Victoria Class" purchased in 1998 from the British Government. (formerly Upholder Class when in use with the RN) .

As the submarine is still classified as "Active" in the eyes of the DnD until further notice.
The sub was decommissioned in 1998 and transferred ownership fully over to the museum.

Looks like a great museum, I look forward to visiting it one day.

I got to fly over it during December. It looked pretty interesting, from the air...
