• Army Cadets Commemorate Vimy Across Canada

Army Cadets across Canada have been commemorating the Battle of Vimy Ridge during national, provincial and local ceremonies over the past couple of days.

April 8-9: In Ottawa, over 100 Army Cadets held an overnight vigil at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the rain, wind and +2 temperature. Following this, the same cadets were joined on parade by 16 cadets from RCSU(Atlantic) for the national Vimy Ceremony. The Chief of Defense Staff concluded the ceremony with an inspection of the cadets and some words of encouragement and thanks.

Disappointed that my corps didn't attend the ceremony in Ottawa this year, though I can understand why it was so. Participating in the Vimy Memorial for my two years prior was a great experience, albeit one that I shivered through.
