• RCSCC GRILSE Wins the 2013 Regional Inter-Divisional Seamanship Competition

I am very proud to report that the GRILSE Seamanship Team has won first place at the Pacific Region IDSC!

10 members of RCSCC GRILSE competed in the competition held 16 – 17 March 2013 at CFB ESQUIMALT in Victoria, BC. They earned the honour of competing in the Regional Competition after winning first place in the Lower Mainland Zone Competition on 19 January 2013. Coming out on top over 8 other Sea Cadet Corps from the Greater Vancouver Area, they moved on to the Regional Competition where they competed against the winners of the Vancouver Island Zone, Northern Zone, and Interior Zone.

The Seamanship Competition includes a heaving line toss, flag hoisting, naval trivia, sheer legs building, boatswain’s call use, semaphore, knots and advanced ropework, navigation, model boat building and team building activities.

Congratulations to the GRILSE Seamanship Team for this accomplishment!
