I have seen quite a bit of discussion on review boards on CW recently, so I would like to give some insight and some personal suggestions/tips on how to better prepare yourself and leave the interview feeling good about yourself.

    Intro to Review Boards

The interview is a merit list process tool for the board to assess each candidate in person to assign them a score. This is also a development activity for cadets to introduce cadets to business formalities. This will help prepare you for future cadet interviews and potential career path interviews.

    Who Are They?
The interview board consists of a mix of OPC Directors, Gliding Centre CIC Officers, Detachment and RCSU personnel. If there are shortages of the previously stated, you may see members of SSC or CO's. All interviews are conducted in person.

Remembrance Day will soon be upon us, and poppies are now authorized for wear on our uniforms. Every year at this time, some people are confused as to where to wear their poppy, and it is not uncommon to see Cadets or even CF personnel with poppies in the wrong location. This article will serve as a reference to help people know where they should wear a poppy. This article is updated for 2011 to reflect the change in where Cadet medals are worn.

Effective September 2011, all cadet medals will be worn on the right hand side of the uniform.

An excerpt from the official memorandum:

Q1. Why are the cadet medals being moved from the left side to the right side of the cadet uniform?
A1 In accordance with the Canadian Honours System, only official medals may be worn on the left side. The proper place for “unofficial medals” such as cadet medals is the right side of the cadet uniform.

Q2. When will this change be in effect?
A2. This change shall be in effect as of 1 September 2011 in conjunction with the start of the 2011-12 training year. The Dress Instructions CATO for each element and also CATO 13-16 National Cadet Honours and Awards shall be modified for that date.
