  1. Air Cadet Activities for NSE?

So I transferred from air to army for my last year. I've been appointed RSM and have CWO boards in a few weeks. One thing that has been brought up with my gold stars is NSE. After doing a quick search I couldn't find an answer. Because army cadets start accumulating point for NSE in gold star, does anything I did in my Level 4 year (2015-16) and first year of Level 5 (2016-17) count towards NSE? Doing the math, if nothing counted from before, I'd have a measly 290 points, but if Levels 4-5 count, ...

  2. Thinking of transferring

After 5 years with my Sqn, I've grown tired of not much changing. Especially when I seem to be the only senior wanting change. Most cadets have lost interest in the program and only show up because their parents make them. I find this difficult as a cadet who's always loved the program. For any significant change in the atmosphere, it would take at least a few years. I came across a new unit, and they plan to open a new company in my area with about 50 kids interested in joining. It's an opportunity ...

  3. A Bit of a Year in Review

My 2015/16 training year came to an end yesterday at our awards banquet. With a promotion to FSgt, I can safely say that this past year has been one of the best I've had in cadets. When the only goal I failed to meet was winning Top Flight, I can say that this year was successful. I got appointed IC of Flight 1 in January, after the old IC quit. From then on, I strived to improve the flight, as I didn't exactly inherit a flight that was up to some of my high standards. By the end of the year, they ...

  4. Aasc 2016

So I learned that I've been accepted to Advanced Aerospace at St. Jean CFTC last night. I'm the first cadet from 94 Squadron to be accepted to AASC in 5-ish years. Thanks to all the people here who offered advice to me regarding narrative, interview, etc. It's bound to be a great summer. Hope everyone else gets the courses they want.

  5. National Course Narrative

So this year I'm applying to Advanced Aerospace, and I've been working on my narrative. It's in editing stages, but I just wanted to ask if there's anything in specific I should include or keep out of the letter. Our sqn due date for paperwork is the 19th, so we are nearing the end. Also, I'd really appreciate it if any ex-CASA cadets could tell me about their experiences in St. Jean. With the assumption that I make it all the way through and get accepted, I'm really excited for the course. Thanks ...
