Do any other universities have this?
During my frosh week, each residence takes their group of frosh and subjects them to a series of fun/not fun activities to help team build them and make them a part of the house. Each frosh gets a house Tshirt that they have to wear for the duration of frosh week and are told they'll be punished if they wash it. One night they take us on a big walk around the town where we see various parts of campus and initiators squirt us with water guns and yell slogans at us. The next morning at 7, there is morning PT at the football field where everyone is mostly hung over from the optional houseparty the night before and has to log roll, somersault and jumping jack around for an hour or so. That night is the final gross initiation where the frosh are dunked in various foodstuffs to prove that they are "man enough" to be a part of the residence.
I've talked about this before with a few of my friends from different universities, and none of them have something like this at their universities. I think that's kinda sad. I do see the bad points of it (obviously) as people could feel unwelcome and degraded. However, I wouldn't have met people if I wasn't forced to get out and roll around in the dirt with them. Also, that is an experience I'll never forget. I can reminice with people from my residence, no matter what year they're in, about the crazy stuff that they made us do. :)
So, what do you people think?
