You're correct about the dating; most popular during the Korean War; made famous by the military folk singer "Oscar Brand" (it's on one of his albums I believe and I think you can find the CD online if you want). I am a drummer, so I dont know how to compose this, The midi is called Aiforce 801, But I belive that the song was called Airforce 801 and the lyrics were added later, or visa versa I dont know the exact orgin.

It is also the same tune as "Wabash CannonBall"

The music would be played on a fife. the band will consist of Fifes and Drums "Tenor drum,Bass Drum, Snare"

I am making some scores to airforce/avation themed tunes

Top Gun Anthem- US Navy but has planes, and dont really feel like argueing if it is sea or air, it is a good popular tune either way,
