No, this isn't a thread about separatism in Quebec. :p
I was born in LaSalle (A suburn of Montreal) and I recently had to send in for a new Birth Certificate because apparntly there was some case of fraud or something. Im in Nova Scotia now, so I was wondering if there was something I..err..missed?
Edit: I can't spell separatism on my own :p

I had to send away to the Government of Quebec to get a new Birth Certificate (A certificate of birth, if you will. :p) because the one I had before that wasn't valid. I was wondering if anyone knew why it wasn't valid anymore. :D

Is yours laminated? I know the old ones were laminated, and then it got changed and you had to get new ones.

My current one is not laminated, and on the back it says..well it's french so I can't read it. But, somewheres it said that it became Void (Or something to that effect) if it were laminated.

Maybe you had the small one? When I went for my driver license two years ago, I had to get a large copy of it (about the size of 8½ X 11 page).

Bonjour Caporal-chef Ward!
I hope that you are doing well. Okay, I read your story. Firstly, did you already order your new birth certificat. If yes, then I will believe that you will receive a new, valid copy ASAP. Secondly, I think that this might be a unique case for you, because I have never heard about invalid (ligit) birth certificats.
Have a nice day!

Actually I just received the day I started this thread :) Aswell, other people I know had to get new ones. My mother (Born in LaSalle), uncle (LaSalle), cousin (Royal Vic), cousin (Laval..or Lachine. I forget.) and an aunt (LaSalle) I wonder what happened for us all to need new ones. :S

A birth certificate not vaild? That's weird. I don't think that there's any like expiry dates for them because there's no reason to be.
