I am Mike Chow from 34 Sabre Squadron Regina Sk. I have been in the cadet program for 6 years. I hold no important position at my sqn. A bit of an aside but I know both CA and Judy (1 from SL and gliding, and the other from gliding).
I have taken SL in 2002 (B3 Flight), Gliding (Bandit Flight) in 2003, and accepted for power in 2004. Lots of ppl ask me if I have the intention of becoming a military pilot and my answer is no. My flight training is purely for recreation (I will become a qualified gliding instructor [hopefully]).

I'm Corporal Henry Ngo
I am with 655 Richmond RCACS. I'm in the Flag Party and I hold our Squadron Banner, as well as being the spare Rifle.
I am currently completing level 3 training this year and and will have two years left before retiring.
I am 16 years old turning 17 in July.
It is weird being 16 and in level 3 because I did not join until I was 14 and a half. There are a few other 16 year olds and 15 year olds too though, so it is not so bad.
It is also a bit annoying since I am capable of a lot more than I do yet I cannot do many things because of my junior-ness (yes, I invented a new word!).
My favourite cadet activities are flying and survivals. I fly only for fun and do not plan to get my wings since I do not have enough time to get them and I do not really have much use for them in my future. By the time I get them I would be aged out already.
Finally, I'm going to the Aerospace Course this summer- which was my goal since I first joined cadets :D :D :D !

Im Warrant Officer 2nd Class Kyle Connelly
This has been my 5th training year with 150 Hamilton Tiger Squadron. I will be Graduated level 5 this training year, and I'll be 17 on the 24th of this month (yay!). Im currently the competing Drum Major for our band, and am one of the Squadron Warrant Officers for this training year (long story). I have attended the Basic Musician's course in 2000 for percussion, and was Top Cadet for Flight 19 I.T.I.C 2nd Intake in 2002 in Trenton. At my squadron I have been flight commander of Hercules Flight, Lead Tip snare drummer in our band, and last year recieved the Lord Strathcona Medal for excellence in physical fitness and training. Hopefully this summer I will be attending Trenton for a staff position. Well, that just about wraps it up. Ive read a lot about all of you who have posted so far and would like to say that its nice meeting you all!! I hope to get to know you all a little better too! Talk to you all soon! :)

I'm Sgt Pat Sheehan, from 51 Canada Aviation Museum.
In level 5, flight 2IC, too lazy to get involved in anything but ground school. Did PERT at Penhold in 2001, ACS at Lac Sab in 2003. Been told I'm heading to glider, no idea where. Was on parde on Parliment hill as the unknown solider was brought into the parliment buildings. Never gotten any awards or the like. And that's it.

7th April 2004, 17:33
I'm FSgt John Towns of 177 RCACS in Winnipeg where I'm currently a Flt Commander.
I'm just finishing up my sixth year of cadets, and I age out in the October of the year after next.
I have only been to ONE camp (Rifle Coach 0202 - "Phantom Flight"), and I was Accom staff last year (which wasn't as bad as I often make it out to be...except the daytime shifts - at least at night there's no whiny cadets to bother you ;) ). I'm hoping that this year someone won't be paying attention and offer me staff again.
I do a lot of shooting through cadets (or used to anyway), as well as being on the drill team and playing the bass drum for band.
I also graduate this year *whoo-hoo!*, and I hope to continue my studies by pursuing a degree in communication at the University of Winnipeg and Red River College

9th April 2004, 10:50
Hey,
I'm F/Sgt. Cheryl Tucker from 508 Caribou RCACS. I am currently Flag Party Commander and lead glock and a level 5 cadet.
I joined cadets in 1998 - quit in 1999. Joined in 2000 and still there. In the summer of 2001 I planned to go to basic but got send to band at Acadia. While at band I was inspired to go into the flying aspect of cadets and in 2002 I went to 'Introduction To Aviation' at RGSA. In 2003 I went to Glider (best summer of my life). I just recently found out that I have been accepted to go to Power, so thats where I'll be this summer (Gander). Next year I want International Exchange.
Over the years I have also recieved awards for perfect attendance (2001, 2002, & 2003), Best Jr. NCO (2002) and Best Senior NCO (2003).
Other than that I am also on the Drill Team and will be SQN. Commander next year. Next year is my final year but I will officially age out in May 2006. I plan to go away for University so unfortunatly I will not finish my last year at home as a cadet but will probably spend that year as a CI in NS.
Meh. Hoped you liked my cadet life story lol.

Movie: American Beauty
Food: Chicken wings
Book: The Shining
Band: Van Halen, or anything 80's pretty much...
TV Show: The Simpsons

Not exactly... it's an "introduce yourself" thread. The "brag about yourself" thread is the accomplishments and awards thread.

My name is Peter Stocker. I am an ex-WOI at 781 'Calgary' Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron. Somehow I'm still with 781 as a Civillian Instructor (CI). Currently I am serving as 781's Operations Officer and one of the two Familiarization Flying Officers.
I also volunteer regularly at Netook Gliding Centre, serving as a Glider Familiarization Pilot, a Winch Operator and a general nuisance...or not. I still have not thought of a better way to spend a weekend than to stand around in a farmer's field and push gliders around, so if you can think of something, let me know.
Anything else you want to know, just ask, I'm usually online these days University being over for the summer.

Allrighty, I'm WO2 Robin Gavlas, Deputy Squadron Commander of 517 F/Lt Graham Squadron, Greenwood, NS.
I joined Cadets on Nov 17th 1997, and have been with my current squadron since then. Due to my late join date, I didn't get my LACs 'till the following Fall, after basic ('98, Greenwood, Expeditor Flt, 2nd Intake). Shortly after that, (before the next summer) I was promoted to Cpl, and stayed that way until 2001, when I was promoted to Sgt just before heading off to Rifle Coach (Penhold, Phantom Flt., 2nd intake). I was promoted to F/Sgt. November 6th 2001, and was Wing Adjutant that cadet year. At the end of the year I was awarded the Lord Strath medal. During the summer of 2002, I was out in Cold Lake for SLC, and came home with the AFA Medal. I was promoted to WO2 and SWO in October. During the summer of 2003, I was Flight staff for Iroquois Flight (Aircrew) in Greenwood.

My basics. I'm Flight Sergeant Haley-Diane Legge, and I'm currently completing my fifth year with 507 F/L McLean Squadron at Camp Aldershot, Nova Scotia.
Last year I taught Level 1 Survival, and some other random stuff, and I was Deputy Flight Commander (Flight Sergeant for some of you out there) for Avenger Flight. I was a Corporal until January, and recieved my promotion to Flight Sergeant in June of 2005.
I'm Flight Commander of Avenger Flight, I teach Level 1 Drill, Level 1 GCK, Level 3 Instructional Technique, and Level 3 Drill Instruction, as well as working in supply and the admin office.
I have my gold Canada Fitness badge, Level 1 Rifle, Standard first aid (but I think it expired,) and have recieved the Stephen Boyd Memorial Trophy for most improved cadet.
For summer camps I did ITIC at Greenwood when I was in Level 3, and Technical Training (Electronic) at Blackdown in Level 4. It was fantastic, the best summer of my life :) And this summer I'm hoping to go to RGS-A for Glider, or back to Blackdown for Tech Staff, which would be my first choice, it would be fabulous. Or even Greenwood staff, close to home!
Outside of cadets I play volleyball, badminton and lacrosse, and am on my school's Power Cheerleading team. I'm sixteen and in the eleventh grade. That's pretty much it. :)

Aiit, here we go:
I'm Warrant Officer 2nd Class Mathew Grabau, 7th year 573 Andrew Mynarski VC RCACS, Winnipeg, MB.
Presently I'm the Cadet Squadron Commander/Sqadron Warrant Officer (whatever you choose), and I do just about anything that's required; instructing is my favourite, much better than admin work.
I've got my level 2 musician, fam pilot rating, emergency first aid, who knows how many years perfect attendance. In terms of awards, I've received the George Longbottom Band Award for top band cadet, the William Spears Memorial Award for most improved cadet and the Frederick Pink Memorial Award for top power pilot 2005 (Air Cadet League of Manitoba).
Summer Camps: 2001 - ILC Penhold; 2003 - ITAC RGS(Pra); 2004 - Gliding RGS(P); 2005 - Power St. Andrew's MB. This summer - RGS (Pra) staff or Penhold Staff, perhaps even Cold Lake staff. Well that's my hopes anyways.
Outside of cadets: rugby. Other than that I'm in my first year at the University of Manitoba (Engineering!), eighteen yrs old.
And that's me.

I was, at one point, a complete CW addict but kind of fell out of the loop for oh... three years. ha.
I'm Sqn Cmd of 60 Confederation Sqn in Charlottetown, PEI.
I'm in my sixth year of cadets.
I've been on four courses, basic, ILC, ITAC, and then SLC 2k5. I got staff last year but turned it down. I'm applying for glider this year at RGS(A)

Well i want to contribute to this! even tho my life isn't all that interesting lol. Well I'm Cpl. Desiree Quenneville and I'm from 696 Blind river (formally know as 696 golden wing). I carry the Ontario flag in the flag party. I switched over from RCSC 306 captain kidd in 2004 as an LC,completed phase 2 to RCAirC. Having to redo level 2 last year i am currently doing air studies and level 3. Oh and I'm 14 years old, turning 15 in exactly a month :).
I've attended Sail TG 1 at HMCS Ontario in 'o4 and in 'o5 i attended AIC at the same base. its hard to think that this year i wont be able to go back. Hopefully this summer I'll get Photo tech or SIC depending on which one i apply for.
Outside of cadets i tutor math and science, play volley ball, basket ball, badminton and soon track and field for my school. I'm also part of my school counsel (Co-Vie).
Oh and as my TTO this summer said he felt sorry for me because i live in Elliot lake, and if any of you know my town, you would to.

I also consider the laugh of wallace an art form...
Ah ... this is so true.
So I read back and found out that I hadn't posted. So now I will. :D (because I know you're all dying to hear!)
My name is Brandy Lee Mac Lean, and I'm a 2Lt, but hopefully I'll get to go on LTQ soon. I currently don't work with a unit, but I live in Winnipeg and hopefully I'll be back to terrorize Penhold's bandies this summer. I have a Bachelor of Music (in the saxophone) from Mount Allison University and now I'm doing a Bachelor of Education at the University of Manitoba.
I was a cadet for 4 years because I joined late, but I've been involved with the cadet movement for 8 years. In that time I've worked with 5 cadet units, and have been an air cadet, air officer, sea cadet, and sea officer. I guess I'm just indecisive. I went on service band twice in Greenwood ... and then staffed twice in Acadia, once with senior band in 2001 and once with junior band in 2002. Then I was a junior band officer in 2002. Last summer I worked with Penhold's junior band.
And I think that about does it.

How can you be squadron commander and SWO at the same time?
He is saying he holds the sqn's most senior cadet appointment, SWO, and therefore fills the squadron commander role on parades. Some Sqns have the misguided notion there is a cadet squadron comander apointment, which is rubbish, as the cadet squadron commander is the CO, and is an officer appointment.

Well apparently I was the last to post here in 2004, before it "came back from the dead". So a lot has changed since then, I no longer work at shell (cause they suck) I worked as a stock analyst (stopped that) now I'm a server at Montana's. I still work at the Gimli Gliding Centre, and am still a CI for as long as I can swing it. I would like to continue on and be an instructor, but we'll see what happens with that. I am currently back at highschool upgrading and such, and plan to take another year off, so I can save money (ya right, doesn't happen when you live on your own) and travel.

Yet you made a post anyway :)
Myself, I'm Richard Moore. Used to go 342 bedford lions as a cadet. I was a CI for a while, didn't really enjoy it, so I left. I did a few courses, Basic in 99 at St. FX (Greenwood away from Greenwood), Rifle Coach in 2001 in Penhold, SLC in 2002, and Range Staff in 2003 in Greenwood.
Right now I work as a CNC programmer part-time while I finish my Electrical Technologist course at NSCC. When I don't work I'm either riding my motorbike in the summer or snowboarding in the winter, when we have snow anyway... Thats my life in a nutshell.

Sgt Shannyn Bruce- I joined air cadets on September 26th, 2001, 652 Milford NS Squadron. I joined 507 F/L McLean Squadron in January 2003, when I moved to Kentville. I attended 6 week band at HMCS Acadia in 2002 and 2003, Junior Band both times. Then in 2004 and 2005 I attended Music Levels 3-5 Band at Greenwood. And hopefully in 2006 I will be band staff somewheres.. At my squadron I'm the Drum Major, and I have my level 4 playing and level 5 theory. I instruct Level 2 drill, Level 3 Gck, and a few other classes in the new year that I don't remember right now. And I'm in my 5th year of cadets.

Hi, I'm Kyle and I like long walks on the beach...
I'm currently waiting to start IFR ATC training here in Winnipeg. Until then I'm keeping busy with projects... and being a trouble maker.
Cadet wise, I'm still not doing much. I'm on slate with the Gimli Gliding Center but if any squadrons or corps need help over the next 6 months I have a lot of free time! I worked at Greenwood in the summer of 2005... but with ATC I won't be able to go to camp in 2006  !
I'm not sure if I'll be able to stay with the CIC when the new career starts up. I guess I'll have to see how my time is.
For fun, I love to fly gliders and I run a website for young pilots at www.juniorpilots.ca
