I suppose this is a LITTLE belated, seeing as how the comp was in September. Congrats to 153 Woodstock, nice to see little corps stickin it to the bigger guys.

Noticed your band is not on the schedule for the WOA comp, what happened? We desperately need some more SEA representation at these events!

The last time Wallaceburg went, to my knowledge, was my last year as a cadet. I dont know if they went after I left. it was good times, I hope they go next year.

On Saturday, September 10th, 2005 Thames Flotilla held their annual sports competition in Sarnia, Ontario.

The results are as follows:

1) 132 Repulse
2) 48 Agamemmnon
3) Tied -- 133 Stratford and 153 Woodstock
4) Tied -- 37 Courageous and 94 Warspite

135 Admiral Nelles and 162 Wallaceburg couldn't make it to this competition unfortunately so only 6 of our 8 corps' were present.

For those of you who don't know, our sports competition is composed of 3 events; softball, volleyball, and pinball. All the rules and regulations for the organization of the competition as well as each event are located in the NLP 101. Each corps puts in a team of 15 people that has to be below a certain age limit when all the team members' ages are added up.

I'm currently in the process of putting together a proposal to revise and edit some of the regulations regarding the competition and make it more practical.

Aside from some personal quams I had with the competition, it was well turned out and a lot of fun was had. It's good to see something that cadets still promotes that meets my favourite aim of the Cadet movement!

How has sports comp not been practical? Nothing's perfect, but I've always found Sports Comp to be a really good comp with very little problems.

I don't expect it to be perfect, and yes I agree that sports competition is generally a very good competition, but you weren't there this year so even if past sports competitions ran with very little problems, it is not your place to assume it went off without a hitch this year.

I was generally curious to what was different this year, since Admiral Nelles wasn't there. Which is why I asked.

It was very unorganized, no 'umph' behind it, as well as some things that I personally did not like regarding the way some events were run, et cetera...but I'm not going to air that out in here...I'm working on going through the proper channels to see that it gets dealt with...
