I am a member of the drill team this year and as a CWO I have been asked to prepare a D.T routine.
I dont know what to do! Someone help me out!
I have been on one drill team and I had alot of fun, but the routine we were given was one prepared by the 2LT of our squadron. Now she is gone and I dont know what to do. I have had no experience with commanding a drill team and what is even worse is the fact that I have to have the routine turned in in a week to be approved by the CO.
Give me a hand guys!

look through your drill manual, pick out certainmovements you can do, then be creative take your movements and have fun, try weaving through ranks usingleft right turns, try different types of wheeling.

Do formation drill by rank....have the ranks split up and do something different in sequence (meaning have each rank do their own sperate thing, but have it relate to what others are doing)

I'm sure some members of CW have some sample routines they can send you. Also, you might want to search the net.

Another suggestion, go to http://tag.aircadet.com and check out the TAG Forums. The Toronto squadrons are all drill crazy, I'm sure you can get some help there.

Last but not least.... don't under estimate the abilities of your fellow NCO's under your command. Perhaps you can ask an SLC Grad for assistance?

Is this armed drill?

Go back and watch the 2003 Edinburgh Tattoo to see the US army drill team. you might get some ideas from that.

Hey,
Go to www.dci.org and order some drum corps videos. Watch that and you'll see some real drill movements. Simply rip them off and introduce them to the cadet world and people will think you are original because DCI is better than Cadets.

Ugh, Cadet Kelly. Somehow we ended up with 5 of the rifles they used. Pieces of crap I tells ya. Gimme a Lee Enfield anyday.
