I think that someone who could hide this long and make plans that reach so far into the future is hardly mad.

So what your saying is that if some one want to kill thousands of people is not crazy?

It's possible to want to do all sorts of bad things without being mentally ill.

I'll give that he's a little misguided.
But, truthfully, I'd probably be behind him 100% if I was born in a different place.
He's not stupid, and he's not crazy. Those are labels we attach to him so we don't feel so completely ****-scared of what he can do. It's our mental defence-mechanism as a civilization. They have somewhere in between little and no basis in reality.
(As a sidenote, we're still terrorized when we think he is a crazy fool with an AK and a few followers. If we were to admit to ourselves what we're really up against, we'd probably see alot more 'terror alerts').

Think of his actions and plans in terms of plotting revenge for what he considers crimes against his people... and it becomes clear that he is most definitely not crazy.

Well, George Bush also killed thousands of people. Tony Blair likewise. In fact, I don't think there's been an American president who didn't.
We don't call them mad.

Let's not forget Truman. We never called him mad, but look at what he went and did to Japan.

Yeah. He saved millions of Japanese lives.
...but that's a whole other argument. ;)

I'm sure that's how alot of suicide bombers rationalize their actions.
Well, being suicide bombers, they wouldn't have to. They've already got the courage and dedication. But if they did need it, that'd be an argument in favour of blowing onesself up.

Bin Ladin really is a very intelligent man. if you remeber, history is often writen by the victor. take the fathers of the american revolution. i'm pretty sure to england at the time they seemed like "mad men", but as we see, it did make a difference, and now, some 200+ years later they are considered Heroes. im not saying i support Bin Ladin, i'm mearly pointing out that historical events are always interperated they way people in power want them to be. i'm pretty sure that there are many, many people in the middle east the consider Bush and Blair "mad men" for what they have done to thousands.
its all a matter of opinion.

Yes..but (I am NOT supporting suicide bombers in any form.) they give their life for it. The President sits back and orders the drop. Im sure it would be an intense time for him, but none the less..

War is getting more and more extreme...
Whatever happened to the days when we found a field and just shot at each other until we got bored? :p
Osama Bin Laden is not a mad man. Perhaps he has a warped sense of perspective. He is definately not the random-crazy man that people reckon he is. I think he operates on a different system... he has it psyched up in his mind to be that way.

So what your saying is that if some one want to kill thousands of people is not crazy?
If i could concieve a plan to kill thousands of muslims because i thought they had invaded a holy part of my belief, and ruined it, i would hardly call my actions crazy, but yet, justifiable... Usama has his beliefs of hatred to the U.S. many publis hthat it's because he felt betrayed wit hthe presence of the U.S. Military in his hoyl lands... who knows why he hates them... was Napoleon a mad man? or a genius, hell he was the god father of the tin can.... a small lil fact for ya....
but waht i am getting at is, anyone who takes the time to sit down, and plan out a way to kill his enemy and not get caught, is a genius, wether his intentions are justifiable or not, and it doesn't meen he is crazy.
after all the last time i looked at a mental instatution the record was 5 kills

i am not at all justifying his actions or any other terrorist actions but he is fighting for his beliefs.
he is not crazy or stupid he has university degrees in engineering. he used them for good in afghanistan to fight the russians. he is not an afghan he is infact saudi arabian he threw riches away to fight for his beliefs. if you have read any of my other posts on the international issues forum you my think my views are contradictive. if you want to discuss them pm me
