I'm planning to major in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management and would like to either work as an HR rep with a company or as a consultant in the future. I was wondering if there are any positions with PAC Region that involve "doctoring" for units, that is identifying organizational or managerial problems within cadet corps/squadrons and implementing solutions to make things run more smoothly. Is this job usually reserved for the ACAs though? Or are there also officers that do this? I am really interested in this type of work and it will be pretty keen (yes I said keen :D) to have this available as a career option (even if its a secondary job) so that I can contribute back to the movement via my education.

You should consult with one of the Cadet leagues since you are on the civilian side. You understand that the military has it's own "Organizational Behavior and Human Resource" courses and it vary from the civilian courses.

The general principles of HR management still apply. The military, just like any organization, has its own corporate culture and set of values that present opportunities and challenges for the HR professional.

balobot - There are such vocations in the CF, though they are not all exactly direct entry. Suggest you poke around your local CFRC or the CF department websites. There are also civilian careers with DND.

Myself, personally, as a unit CO, draw greatly on my experience and knowledge as an HR generalist in the operation of my unit.

Best of luck to you! HR is an exciting career, with many directions that you can take.

Yes, one of the ones that I thought of -- but only one part of the HR equation.

In prairie region that is the Newly appoint ACOs job, Alberta has 4, and basically their job is to go out to struggling cadet corps, and help them fix things that they need help on
