CIC Branch Officers are not required to complete fitness testing, excepting those personnel who are on Class B contracts longer than 180 days.

I see.. another somewhat related question: Can you be not employed but in CIC? Like.. Can I be a volunteer instead of getting paid?

You can be a Civilian Instructor or a Civilian Volunteer. However, I don't know how that falls in with COATS. For more info about COATS and the CIC, check out the CWwiki or the official Cadets webpage.

CIs and Volunteers don't fall under COATS. They are not members of the CF.

I need to get my butt in gear and start running again. Our corps' ACFT is in November, and all the officers participate as well. Last time I missed getting silver because of my shuttle run time... :(

Of course having a sore butt cheek doesn't help. I really should visit my doctor and see if he can recommend something. It's been off-and-on sore since I fell down on it on ice several years ago. X-ray didn't show anything, and it's not sharp pain, it almost feels like the tendon just doesn't want to stretch as far as it used to.
