Hmmm I sang "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence. I always sing on my solos because I find it keeps me nice and calm, even more attentive. I think I may have sang all the songs posted here at some point! :biglol:

I did not sing a song for my first solo. I did however "celebrate" out loud for the entire duration.

I don't sing when I fly. I do have some decent reasons. For one, not singing prevents me getting airsickness (I can't sing well). I also focus on doing my best on just flying. Besides, the wind rushing past in gliders, or the motor in an airplane, are perfectly accceptable to me.

KGB!!!! I didn't know you were on here!!!!!
:D He also sang the Russian National Anthem at our 'Christmas in July' Celebration :)

For me, it was American Pie (Don McLean) (yes... ALL OF THE VERSES) and Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show

Wait, so im going on Glider this year, and im wondering, what do you mean by a "solo song"? :S

The solo song is an air cadet tradition - it's the song that you sing during your first solo in a glider (or powered plane). I think the reason why we do it is because it's awfully quiet going up by yourself for the first time. There's no instructor yapping at you from behind. The solo song is a way of not getting spooked by the silence. ;)

Sounds fun, though, i can't sing for my life. Enjoy Glider!! :)

I suggest Queen - Don't Stop Me Now as a solo song. Probably the one I'll sing on my solos.

Hey Guys!!

I just got back from Glider at ERGS this summer, and I sang Journey - Don't Stop Believing, on takeoff, then Bohemian Rhapsody on final approach. It was great!! :D :woot:
