Yes.. but that was just in case I diidn't get staff. And if that does end up being the case, I think it would be in my best interest to stay home and work so that I can make money for university. I'm not all that sure what I'm going to do yet though. I still could end up doing d&c if I don't get staff, but I'm not sure yet.

PERI is the best, at ONTARIO anyway... wake up, run excerice... (go behind hill and make cadets sleep)... then wake up go to breakfast... shower... fall in for colours at the back and do pick up parade... go to the pool for 30 minutes... sleep for 3 hours till lunch... then lunch is optional for staff... so sleep through that, sleep another 5 hours till dinner... again optional... and then u have rest f day off... and best part is... You make PO1 pay minimum.. lol...

I have been volunteered by my father to help the hunt for the summer - lots of riding and lots of hard work. He has graciously allowed me three weeks off - one week fishing in Scotland, One week at Royal Ascot and one week in Gibraltar. Apart from that it is going to be 6am-6pm days - fixing things, maintenance and Public Relations efforts...The rest of my spare time I am expected to act as groom and dogsbody to my sister at competitions and to take my 'orses to competitions if I can find some time!

A summer without camp isn't as bad as it sounds... i didn't get glider my first year. Of course I was crushed.. but I made the most of it, and i even went ti the wings parade to support my friends that did get it. turns out I'm glad i didn't get it that year, because I wouldn't of had the chance to meet some of the greatest people I know. Because of my delay, power was in a different spot, and I had the most amazing instructor, and learned so much from him.

I know you posted this awhile ago, but I just saw it now. I myself can comment on this after being a TG 2 Gunnery DPO, I think it was challenging at times, but very rewarding...especially if you get cock of the walk. :D It may be hard, but you have a lot to show from it when you are done. I think my division was way different by the end of the summer, because of me and my fellow staff. I would not look down at the DPO's or think that I'm too good for the job...it's alot harder, and too tuff for some to handle. It was partly my decision last summer, cause when asked what I would like to do last summer, it was TG 2 gunnery DPO...some would think that is a stupid choice...but it wasn't...it showed me what I could do and what I could put up with... ;) All in all, I am glad that I had the experience.

I will have to agree with Ms Weller, each job has its pros and cons but I wouldnt call any job the worst. Having been a DO last summer I can garantee that its demanding but you are also preforming one of the most important functions at the CSTC you are TRAINING CADETS. Each job at camp requires different skills some can be DPOs some can't same as every other job.

It does atake a very special person to be a good DPO...

I was on Parade Staff last year at acadia and im still awaiting the staff slates for this year :mad:
there taking a loooong time..
but i age out after the summer, so im starting my CIC paperwork tonight!
