Just out of curiosity, how many of you have noticed an uprising of Skinheads, for those who dont know what skinheads are, they are basically a gang who believe in Hitlers cause. I recently stumbled across an old friends site, and noticed he has come to belive in the aryian race and such.... Has anyone else, not just in Coquitlam, or tri-cities, but all over the country noticed an uprising of skinheads, or neo-nazis?

I recently read bits of a argument over on Snopes' forums between a self-proclaimed skinhead and some other users there. The "skinhead" claimed that although him and his friends called themselves skinheads, they didn't align themselves with racist ideals that have come to be associated with the term. The others seemed skeptical, and I tend to agree with them. If you call yourself a skinhead, people are going to automatically think "nazi."
Apart from that, I've never really noticed any problems with skinheads, either in my personal experience or in the news. I'd thought they were sort of a dying breed. Maybe it's just one of those things that people are managing to propogate through the internet and make a small group of people seem a lot more widespread than they really are?

Racist movements exist, but aren't all Neo-Nazis. I would tend to believe that Neo-nazis are much more discret than skinheads. Would can really give numbers on the uprising? Internet is a tool, and the amplification made by it might not be significant to a point where we could call an uprising. Discrimination should not be part of western (modern?) society.

Thats the thing about it though, Here in coquitlam it is real, its not internet. a friends fiances bosses son, was curb stomped by two skinheads. The ones here od align themselves with racial ideals of the neo-nazis, one of them today told me that he isnt a neo-nazi but supports them 100%, only difference between him and a neo-nazi(according tohim), was that "hitler died 60 years ago, i got over it."

people need to take an active stance against it. It is much easier for someone to be racist on the internet, but it starts to build into a mob mentality and transfers into the real world....pretty dangerous if you ask me

I live in Coquitlam, and I don't think it's as bad as you make it. The alleged curb stomping you speak of is, at this point, an unproven isolated event that you seem to be aware of due to a long chain of gossip.
I'm not placing my support behind neo-nazis or any apparently racist group, but I am saying that an isolated incident doesn't equate to an uprising of racist skinheads.
Evidence? Examples?
