I was only 14 on Sail TGII . I definately don't regret going. It was quite a bit of fun especially during the BLACKOUT2003. At HMCS Ontario we had a dance that night it was great because it was so dark and PO's were dancing with course cdts. (At Ontario it's a CHAP issue for Course cdts. to dance with Staff cdts.)

At Connaught staff cadets aren't even supposed to be in the cadet canteen during the dances unless they're on duty and looking for a certain cdt. There are a few officers supervising and they rotate every so often.

Yea, but it sucks for that one year where a lot of your staff is either your age or a year older, and you know them from previous courses/years.... (and in wont comment on CHAP and how i dont agree with the ways in which a lot of it is used {personally i dont believe in CHAP... i believe in the law...})

(I joined when I was 14 and a half) People from my town should have advertised more....I didn't even know that there was such a thing as cadets till I was almost 14.

The year I went on rgs I was the oldest cadet there, be it staff or course. Despite the age differences the seperation has to be there. CHAP was brought in because the system wasn't working, people were' tip toeing along the law and parents were getting worried. The system itself isn't a bad thing as long as its used as its meant as a harassment and abuse prevention program, not as a verb.
