I would like to pass on a link to you for your reading pleasure. The Legion of Frontiersmen have been around since pre World War I, like the cadet system there purpose has changed and evolved over the years. But the basic principles of being proud to be Canadian, community service, and team work still there.

The L of F, now specialise in assisting there communities with such things as Search and Rescue, and working with local Canadian Coast guard units and train to assist other EMS organizations in times of need.

They also still provide ceremonial guards for visiting dignitaries, and other special events. I am looking to start the first ever L of F band. I would like to send out a request for ex-cadets and or CIC Officers who think this is something they might be interested in.

Please look at the link below and contact me should you have any questions.

Hello all,

I just wanted to drop a quick note to all those who have aged out of cadets, but miss doing work in their community and being part of a semi Regimental system.

The Legion of Frontiersmen was formed in around 1902, from a constable of the NWMP(RCMP). It started as an organization for English patriots, and over the years has evolved into an organization with strong para military ties with regards to uniforms, and rank structure, but is aimed at serving the community.

In some areas Frontiersmen/women serve with the Coast Guard, in other areasm they train and provide support to local EMS with Search and Rescue operations. They also have a Para unit and mounted troops.

The means in which the organization serves the community are endless, It is an organization that is going through a rebuilding stage hear in Canada, but thrives in the UK, Australia, New Zealand etc.

I think it has alot of potential here in Canada, and would be happy to provide interested people with information and what not re: The Legion of Frontiersmen.

Please feel free to email me at anytime, look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,

Kevin
