Cherry has some good points about Canadians on D-Day.
1)Only one that landed as in plan.
2)Only one with no conscipts on D-Day.
3)Only one to capture most objectives on D-Day.
Interesting, eh?

I have a feeling... that CBC being their censoring selves, will complain about his talking about something other than hockey tomorrow...

I say, if they do, we all e-mail CBC and tell them to show a little pride, like Cherry. :D

Cherry didn't say that, so I didn't include it.

The CBC isn't anywhere near as bad for censoring things as other networks.
Censoring has nothing to do with complaining about him talking about something other than hockey.
I don't think they care if Don Cherry shares his thoughts on D-Day, especially on the eve of such an important anniversary. If he brought it up some time in September or something, maybe. But not on the anniversary.
I think it's nice that Don Cherry took advantage of his position with so many viewers to impart some knowledge and insight.

Don Cherry is my hero. I watched what he said and me and my buddies were cheering. Unlike alot of people, he has the stones to say what he thinks.

But they could have done better if they would not have wear their helmet. :p
I don't really like the guy even if I think he put out a nice show. I also think that it's great that people that can reach that many people spoke about that day

I don't aways agree with Don Cherry's statements, however, he did the right thing last night. More young people should be reminded of the acts of the men and women that have fought for our country. I hope that no one will dare make a complaint on the comments that Cherry did last night.

Don Cherry is my hero.
Don Cherry is my hero because of the suits he wears, not because of what he says. I LOVED the suit he had on last night!! THREE DON CHERRY THUMBS UP!!

In the end, the only qualms one can have with Grapes is that he doesn't sugar-coat the truth. It's like that whole helmet quote. Sure, he made it sound deplorable when he said it, but as some-one with some time on their hands pointed out, like Don or not, the majority of players that wear guards on their helmets are europian or french-canadian. So...how do you stay mad with someone that speaks the truth?
CBC would be much happier if Don stayed to talking about Hockey, and you have to realize that for the most part he does well staying out of things like politics and most current events...but ignoring D-Day for the sake about talking about a hit from behind, or good forechecking...well, then the CBC will no doubt show the world that they are clowns...
