From his oh so witty use of the phrase "lieberal" and "fiberal" to his continued put downs of anything leftist, has ed simply gone too far?

I think you completely missed the point. It's that political mudslinging is silly, not whether or not you like the liberals

OK, I missed the point of it. But, take a look around. Are the Libs fibbing? Yes. Are they lieing? Yes. So what's wrong with calling them by what many, though I doubt most, people in this country see as a more appropriate name?

What's wrong is that nothing rhymes with Conservitive. Wait! I got it!
CONservative. Hehe.

I don't know quite where you get that from as Conservatives are generally the ones who are more interested in tougher laws and cracking down on criminals, but hey, it's your opinion.

That was a bit odd I must admit, but Chretain spent as much as Mulroney did removing all the stuff. And he kept one election promisehe shouldn't have, he cancelled the chopper contract, wasting 500 million of taxpayers money. Who cares if it was a "cadillac", the CF deserves the best! And now the same chopper is in consideration for the new contract. So the Libs aren't spotless either. I'm not even going to start on the sponsership scandal.

Also, the term "flogging a dead horse" does come to mind...
If you want to continue bashing political parties,do it elsewhere. This thread is for discussion about whether or not ed's mudslinging is getting annoying, not about whether or not you agree with him.

Can you explain that? I don't understand... :o

I don't know if that was sarcasam or not, but I'll explain anyways (I'm sorry if it was and this sounds condescending).
Flogging (or beating) a dead horse is an expression used to say that someone is repeating the same thing over and over...and it's just getting annoying.
Like the 1000's of threads cw used to have about "why we hate CHAP". Yes, everyone hates it, but whatever.
Also, the simple fact that by bashing liberal supporters, he's being quite mean to a lot of people on this site makes his comments uncalled for. I have a very low opinion of both the liberals and the conservatives, but I try to be polite so as not to offend those who support those parties.
Now, as I said before - this thread is for the discussion of whether or not political mudslinging is appropriate on CW (not about whether or not you like the liberals).

Yes, it gets annoying.

Warran, your posts and threads are always a very interesting read. Unfortuantly, I'm closing this while I'm laughing.
Cheers,
