I got a rejection letter today, or at least I think that's what it was. It says that they've recently handed out acceptances for about half the number of spots available for the program I applied to (Concurrent Education at Queen's U), and that although they can't offer me acceptance at this time, they will be handing out more acceptances in late May.

Has anyone ever gotten a letter like that? Any idea what the chances are that I will be accepted in late May? Any thoughts?

It depends on where you are on the list for admissions....they're doing their first round now, but chances are, many of those people have applied to other schools, and Queens may or may not be their first choice. Once they get those acceptances in, they go down their list.

Do you have a backup plan?

Last year I applied to UWO and recieved rejection letters but this year I'm pretty lucky. I recieved 2 Early offers, one from Brescia and one from Huron in late March. I wouldn't worry about the rejection letters they can accept you right up to the end of August. There still is a chance. They may send you another form which can go to another consideration for the program that you applied for. Keep your options open but aways have a backup plan!

oh yeah, I definitely have back-up plans. I've been accepted to other programs/universities, it's just really disappointing because it was my top choice.
