Not sure when everyone else registers, but we just had those going into 3rd year register today!
After dropping a double major, and deciding to pick up some languages instead, I'm actually fairly content with my schedule for next year:
First Semester:
FREN 1113 -- Intro French 1
SPAN 2013 -- Inter Spanish 1
SPAN 2113 -- Conversational Spanish 2
POLS 3483 -- Critical Perspectives on Globalization
POLS 4343 -- Political Philosophy 1 (Political Ecology) (3 hour seminar starting at 8:30. Seriously, who does that?)
Second Semester:
FREN 1123 -- Intro French 2
SPAN 2023 -- Inter Spanish 2
SPAN 2123 -- Conversational Spanish 2
POLS 4803 -- Canadian Public Policy
POLS 4583 -- Comparative Foreign Policy
POLS 4293 -- Politics of Development
A course will likely get dropped from second semester -- Most likely Canadian Public Policy. But we shall see....
Anyone else?

I'll have to register for classes during the summer. Most of the education classes are set up so the same students take their core courses together ... and I'll get placed into a group by the faculty, so my schedule has very little choice involved, sadly. :(

No, we can do ours online, I just prefer doing it in person because it helps me guarantee what I want to be in.

I'll hear that.
We have the same option. Most people will register online (the system didn't even crash this year!), but if you want to get into specific courses that have a maximum number set at about '10', you're better off to just go and talk to the Dept. Secretary.

I don't really have much choice aside from registering online, as I'm usually home in Nova Scotia by the time registration season comes around. If there's a course I need which I can't get into, I usually do my best to deal with that once I get here. ;)

Next semester I have:
Digital Systems with Lab
UNIX/C and C++ Programming with Lab
Applied Calc
Probability and Stats
A writing course
This is the summer semester :( no camp for me.
The sept semester looks much more interesting:
Telecommunication Engineering Systems with Lab
Intro to Microcontrollers with lab
Engineering Physics with Lab
and intro to Networking (which is going to be boring)
oh well, I get through school a bit faster which is nice, and the training centers won't be going anywhere while i'm in summer school.

So far my courses look like this...
Fall 2006:
Spanish 1006: Intro. to Spanish
Anthropology 1013: Intro. to Cultural Anth.
Anthropology 2413: Human Physical Variation
Fine Arts 2123: Intro. to 20th Century 3D Art
and only for now...
Political Science 2703: Philosophy of Human Rights
but when a spot opens up in Anthropology 1033: Intro. to Archaeology then I will be changing into that.
Winter 2007:
Spanish 1006: Intro. to Spanish Continued.
Anthropology 2523: Social Anth.
Fine Arts 1113: Practical Into to Art Fundamentals
Human Rights 2003: Intro. to Human Rights
Science & Technology 2603: Animal Rights: Experimentation and Conscienous
Planning on doing a BA Honors in Anthropology. Unfortunatly, my university requires us to do 6ch in Fine Arts, which to me is a waste of my time and money.
Chief Hoult
5th April 2006, 09:18
I'm surprised there's 6h in Fine Arts....seems kind of arbitrary. Although I guess all schools will have their quirks. All Arts majors here have to fulfil the "Arts Core":
6h English
6h Language other than english
6h Humanities
6h Social Science
6h Pure & Applied Science
Great fun, that is.

Well, I've picked my Kinesiology courses for next year. Now I need to fill in my electives... I'll probably take some bizzarre combination of History, Hispanic Studies, Religious Studies, Music, and that old standby, first-year Geography.
KINESIOL 3AA3: Biomechanics II
KINESIOL 3K03: Sport Injuries
KINESIOL 3D03: Growth, Maturation and Physical Activity
KINESIOL 4B03: Physical Activity and Coronary Heart Disease
KINESIOL 4CC3: Neuromuscular Exercise Physiology
That last course, by the way, is the bane of all who take it. I may not survive.

Yeah our Arts course is similar:
12ch in Languages, History, Philosophy, or Religious Studies
12ch in Math, Anth, Crim, Economics, Political Science, Native Studies, Psychology or Sociology.
6ch in Sciences
6ch in Fine Arts, Visual Arts or Music
I can see the 1st 2 categories but depending on the major, the other two are useless. For me I at least can use the science as Im doing Anthropology.

This year I am taking: a full year English course, 2 theatre history course, Art 134, Design 135, 3 theatre design courses, and one course which I think involves going to plays at the U of A, but seeing how everything works backstage.
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I have classes from 9-4:50pm, with an hour break in between; except on Fridays my classes end at 12:50, and on Mondays my day starts at 11. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have class from 2-3:20. My schedule for the next term is basically the same, except I start school at 9 on Mondays, and I had Tuesdays and Thursdays off.

My design classes are called:
- Fundamentals of Stagecraft and Design
- Studio Techniques for Theatre Design
- Technical Drawing for Theatre Design
That other class I was unsure about involves working 6 hours a week at the Timms Centre(the campus theatre) in one of the departments.
My program is very small. Including myself, there are four people in my year, twelve in the program overall. We had an orientation on Friday for everyone in the Drama department-actors, stage managers, techs., B.A.s- and they seem like a great group of people. I'm pretty ****** that I missed the loading dock party due to work, but I'm going to make sure that I have it off next year.:)
