I'm 17 and a half.
1. Do you think you are "susceptible" to advertising?
Not really. Ads stick in my head, but I rarely buy things because of them.
2. What slogans/jingles for products can you automatically recall? E.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken is finger licking good.
IN MY HEAD RIGHT NOW!! "Got goldfishes cuz they're soooo delicious! Gone goldfishin!"

also 905 OPE DEBA, from Budget
oh man... I'm like a hundred TVs and radios at once right now...
3. What would be your views on supporting a Buy Nothing Day?
Heck, with a few exceptions, every day is a Buy Nothing Day for me!
4. Are there any products that you refuse to buy because of a specific reason? e.g. **Nike because of human rights policies. **Martha Stewart products because of her involvement in insider trading. ** Foreign cars because you believe in "Buying Canadian or American, or British, or etc"
I refuse to endorse the Olsen Twins because they suck... but other than that, I just generally go for the best buy, and I don't shop at Walmart.
5. Do you think "Sex sells" in advertising? Please provide an example? *NOTE!! AN APPROPRIATE EXAMPLE**
Yes. Example... "Nice lipgloss!" "Thanks, want some" **LESBIAN KISS** **guys gaping**... beer ad. Naturally. It had all the guys talking at school the day after it came out.
6. If you were going to buy something would you research/ locate the product
a) in the yellow pages?

"Buda ba ba ba, I'm lovin it!"-MacDonald's

5. Do you think "Sex sells" in advertising? Please provide an example? *NOTE!! AN APPROPRIATE EXAMPLE**

Depends on the medium used to advertise, as well it depends on whether the product advertised appeals to you.
2. What slogans/jingles for products can you automatically recall? E.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken is finger licking good.
I'm Lovin It, mmm mmm Good - campbells, Always Fresh, Can't eat just one
3. What would be your views on supporting a Buy Nothing Day?
can't happen, it would hurt our economy too much, and there are things that people need to buy during the day
4. Are there any products that you refuse to buy because of a specific reason? e.g. **Nike because of human rights policies. **Martha Stewart products because of her involvement in insider trading. ** Foreign cars because you believe in "Buying Canadian or American, or British, or etc"
Clothing with big logo's on it, because I am not a walking, living billboard

1. Do you think you are "susceptible" to advertising?
Yes. I'm always looking for good deals on the stuff I need, and sometimes I buy things just b/c it's a good bargain. But the cheapest price usually make buy something, not b/c of the advertising.
2. What slogans/jingles for products can you automatically recall? E.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken is finger licking good.
Umm... "Come to Sears, and seee!"
"Hold the pickles, hold the lettuce, special orders don't upset us..." BK
3. What would be your views on supporting a Buy Nothing Day?
If it were a big protest kinda thing I'd support it. I'd make sure I had everything I need in advance. But other than that, I don't see this is a big thing. Long weekends are like buy nothing days... nothing's open!
4. Are there any products that you refuse to buy because of a specific reason? e.g. **Nike because of human rights policies. **Martha Stewart products because of her involvement in insider trading. ** Foreign cars because you believe in "Buying Canadian or American, or British, or etc"
I don't buy from Esso/Imperial Oil. My friend says they're "greedy anti-environmental [morons], and their parent company, Exxon/Mobil, play a crooked game". I get my gas at Petro-Canada, since it's Canadian.
Other than that... nope.
5. Do you think "Sex sells" in advertising? Please provide an example? *NOTE!! AN APPROPRIATE EXAMPLE**
Yes. I wouldn't watch music videos unless the people in them weren't half-naked. And the only reason I wanted to see Coyote Ugly was b/c of the trailers where they were dancing. LOL
6. If you were going to buy something would you research/ locate the product
a) in the yellow pages? I don't think we even have one...
b) on line? <<<<
c) radio or t.v. ads? Not much I want to buy
7. When you go to the movies these days, do you object to the advertising before the movie starts... in the "trailers"?
Yes and no. The LCBO/MADD public service announcement things were a good idea... but why advertise cars? LOL. Teens can't afford new cars (usually)!!! But I think i'd rather a company advertise than me pay extra to see the movie.
8. Is wearing brand names important to you?
Yeah! It's like how people see you. If you show up in a plain white t-shirt someone might see you not as "stylish" as if hyou were to wear a white Old Navy shirt or something. I require a brand name shirt... I'll wear any brand of pants... LOL. Shoes I don't care about.... I wear the cadets ones usually.

1. Do you think you are "susceptible" to advertising?
No, I do not believe so.
2. What slogans/jingles for products can you automatically recall? E.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken is finger licking good.
KFC What's Cookin'.
Kentucky Fried Chicken is finger lickin' good.
(I work at KFC).
I like chicken, I like liver, Meow Mix, Meow Mix, please deliver.
3. What would be your views on supporting a Buy Nothing Day?
As a protest thing: I doubt if it would affect me much, so I'm in favour, but wouldn't participate.
As a regulated thing: Nobody has the right to tell me when to buy or when not to buy.
4. Are there any products that you refuse to buy because of a specific reason? e.g. **Nike because of human rights policies. **Martha Stewart products because of her involvement in insider trading. ** Foreign cars because you believe in "Buying Canadian or American, or British, or etc"
Most Wal-Mart products, because they are crushing their competitors, and they don't work hard enough for my business.
5. Do you think "Sex sells" in advertising? Please provide an example? *NOTE!! AN APPROPRIATE EXAMPLE**
Sex definitely sells. Appropriate example: Makeup commercials. Deoderant commercials. Anti-zit gunk commercials. Et cetera.
6. If you were going to buy something would you research/ locate the product
a) in the yellow pages?
Possibly, depending on product.
b) on line?
Yes, definitely.
c) radio or t.v. ads?
Don't have alot of choice, so yes.
7. When you go to the movies these days, do you object to the advertising before the movie starts... in the "trailers"?
No. It's annoying, but it is how the theatres make their money. And I have no objections to others making obscene amounts of money off of my desire to use their big screen.
8. Is wearing brand names important to you?
Most definitely not. I wear what's cheap, comfortable, and of decent quality.

I never ever buy foreign meet only British
I try to avoid as many Nestle products as possible because of their baby milk scandal
5. Do you think "Sex sells" in advertising? Please provide an example? *NOTE!! AN APPROPRIATE EXAMPLE**
Some of those perfume adverts using sexy women to try and flog scent to men without a clue. Is that using sex or just cruel exploitation of the male race...
6. If you were going to buy something would you research/ locate the product
a) in the yellow pages?
b) on line?
Yeah always use the internet to get consumer reviews, professional reviews, specs and compare prices and then purchase the thing too.
c) radio or t.v. ads?
7. When you go to the movies these days, do you object to the advertising before the movie starts... in the "trailers"?
It is a bit annoying but since I am usually running late I usually miss most of them lol

Not especially - I wear branded items but not mainstream - i.e Barbour, Charles Tyrwhitt, Hackett - solid British brands...
ROO :D

1. Do you think you are "susceptible" to advertising?
Not really. If there was an advertisement that was targetted directly at me, I'd be more delighted, and may even buy that product. But there are so many stupid commercials and ads. So.. no.
2. What slogans/jingles for products can you automatically recall? E.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken is finger licking good.
"Put a smile on, put a smile on, everybody come on... put a smile on!" McD's
"Hot eats, cool treats" at DQ!
"Oh a wish a were an Oscar Meyer weiner..." Oscar Meyer! :P
3. What would be your views on supporting a Buy Nothing Day?
Wouldn't that be partially harmful to the economy. It wouldn't really work. People need things on a day-to-day basis. Gas, smokes( ), bread, milk. And if you're not prepared for such a day, you could go hungry... although, it'd be like another holiday in the year. And who would miss such a thing.
4. Are there any products that you refuse to buy because of a specific reason? e.g. **Nike because of human rights policies. **Martha Stewart products because of her involvement in insider trading. ** Foreign cars because you believe in "Buying Canadian or American, or British, or etc"
Not really. If a product appeals to me, I'll buy it.
5. Do you think "Sex sells" in advertising? Please provide an example? *NOTE!! AN APPROPRIATE EXAMPLE**
Of course sex sells. There's only four ways to sell things, and sex is one of them. Maxim, Playboy, etc. Comic covers use sex to sell issues. Car advertisements, that hot chick laying on some beefed up sports car. Things like that. Shampoo commercials. Herbal Essences..how could you know want that in your shower, lol..
6. If you were going to buy something would you research/ locate the product
a) in the yellow pages?
Difficult to research or find specific items in a phonebook. But it'd be the second place to look for a store which might sell a certain good.
b) on line?
Best place to look for something. This is the first place I'd look in my quest for stuff. :P
c) radio or t.v. ads?
Nope, I don't surf the TV looking for ads. lol.
7. When you go to the movies these days, do you object to the advertising before the movie starts... in the "trailers"?
Yes, I hate it. Sitting down to see car commercials. Like I don't see enough 'zoom zoom' at home. Now I have to see it when I'm paying 7 bucks! But I guess it beats them 'Guess who this is' things they play 15 minutes before the show.
8. Is wearing brand names important to you?
Clothes are clothes. Brand name clothing has never appealed to me, unless 'CADET' is a brand name, LOL. I wear the clothes I have. I ain't going to spend 250 dollars for something that says NIKE when I can get FREE shoes that say 'CADETS'. As long as they fulfill their goal, covering my bod. :P
I am 21.
1. Do you think you are "susceptible" to advertising?
Even if I find a commercial funny, I won't go and buy the produce.
2. What slogans/jingles for products can you automatically recall? E.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken is finger licking good.
No.
3. What would be your views on supporting a Buy Nothing Day?
I am not a real supporter of those thing and I don't see the need for it, I go and buy stuff when I need it when I don't I just don't
4. Are there any products that you refuse to buy because of a specific reason? e.g. **Nike because of human rights policies. **Martha Stewart products because of her involvement in insider trading. ** Foreign cars because you believe in "Buying Canadian or American, or British, or etc"
The only reason I might buy Canadian is because I know that the Canadian one is better or I might prefer the taste. For exemple I prefer Canadian sheep to the one that come from NewZeland because of the way it's raise.
5. Do you think "Sex sells" in advertising? Please provide an example?
Probably, or they wouldn't be that much about it on TV or in Magasine
6. If you were going to buy something would you research/ locate the product
a) in the yellow pages? No, I can't find anything in those pages
b) on line? Yes, I usuly use www.lespac.com. because I find it easy to use compare to other ways. Also, I can target what Ireally want and only have the result for what I am searching for
c) radio or t.v. ads? No, because I can't target what I really want
7. When you go to the movies these days, do you object to the advertising before the movie starts... in the "trailers"? No, I actully like it because I find sitting in front on an empty screen boring
8. Is wearing brand names important to you?
I usuly buy what's cheaper. Also, I don't like big logo on the cloth I wear.

1. Do you think you are "susceptible" to advertising?
Not really, mainly because I don't watch TV very much, and I block ads online. And I read the news online too, so I don't get the newspaper ads. As for billboards, if I'm outside I'm there to enjoy the fresh air and the company of whoever I'm with, not to read massive desperate attempts to get a product sold.
2. What slogans/jingles for products can you automatically recall? E.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken is finger licking good.
"Always got time for TIm Horton's" (Who just happen to have the best coffee and maple donuts I've ever had :D )
"Subway, eat fresh" (Don't eat there much, not impressed with the service I've gotten...in 4 different cities at that)
"Long live the grill" (Harveys; mainly know it because of how much I ate there this past year cause the campus food services was so bad)
3. What would be your views on supporting a Buy Nothing Day?
Bring it on :D
4. Are there any products that you refuse to buy because of a specific reason? e.g. **Nike because of human rights policies. **Martha Stewart products because of her involvement in insider trading. ** Foreign cars because you believe in "Buying Canadian or American, or British, or etc"
I won't buy from anyplace that demonstrates lack of knowledge, poor service, unwillingness to follow through on their personal warranties, lack of interest in customer service, or blatent overcharging. For that last reason, I stay away from name-brand products. Any name-brand products I own either someone bought for me or I found them at Frenchy's.
5. Do you think "Sex sells" in advertising? Please provide an example? *NOTE!! AN APPROPRIATE EXAMPLE**
It sure does. Examples: deoderant, razors, shaving cream, soap, acne "solutions", most pop bands...there's hardly anything in this world that isn't sold with sex
6. If you were going to buy something would you research/ locate the product [b]
[b]a) in the yellow pages? Maybe
b) on line? Almost definately
c) radio or t.v. ads? Highly unlikely
7. When you go to the movies these days, do you object to the advertising before the movie starts... in the "trailers"?
Those ads before the movie? "Object" just isn't strong enough..."hate" or "loathe" comes closer.
8. Is wearing brand names important to you?
Not a bit. I see no reason to pay for the priviledge of being a walking billboard. If it's bought for me (or dirt cheap) I'll buy it if I think it looks good. My unbrabded stuff usually lasts longer than the brand-name stuff I've had anyway.

1. Do you think you are "susceptible" to advertising?
No, I don't think I am, because I don't buy things just becuase the advertisment for it was cool or said it would make the boys drool....
2. What slogans/jingles for products can you automatically recall? E.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken is finger licking good.
ummmmmm, they don't pop off my head but if I think of a brand like campbells mmm mmmmmmm GOOD! i think thats it? or nike(i think) just do it...
3. What would be your views on supporting a Buy Nothing Day?
it wouldn't really matter to me, however being forced, so to speak, to buy nothing 4 a day would just make those shopaholics make up 4 it the next day...
4. Are there any products that you refuse to buy because of a specific reason? e.g. **Nike because of human rights policies. **Martha Stewart products because of her involvement in insider trading. ** Foreign cars because you believe in "Buying Canadian or American, or British, or etc"
I really don't like buying herbal essnces becuase of their commercials and advertisment, ie. It's an organic experience, referring to it's "an orgasmic experience" thats how i feel ne way.....
5. Do you think "Sex sells" in advertising? Please provide an example? *NOTE!! AN APPROPRIATE EXAMPLE**
yes, and again i refer to the "organic/orgasmic" experience. Also ever notice that about the first 5 pages in mag's have clothes advertising with two hot/good looking/skinny ppl all over eachother? Sex sells, but not 4 me thanks...
6. If you were going to buy something would you research/ locate the product
a) in the yellow pages?
b) on line?
c) radio or t.v. ads?
B) it's alot more reliable
7. When you go to the movies these days, do you object to the advertising before the movie starts... in the "trailers"?
I don't object to them but they drive me insane! People will use ne thing to endorse their product, can u blame them? They just want u'r money...
8. Is wearing brand names important to you?
No, becuase I buy things that I like and only if I need it.

OH
*phew*
I read that as "I don't need to be told that it's an orgasmic experience because that's how I feel anyway..."
:p
And I just don't like Herbal Essences because it sucks.

1. Do you think you are "susceptible" to advertising?
YES. I buy things because companies tell me too.
2. What slogans/jingles for products can you automatically recall? E.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken is finger licking good.
I'm Lovin it
We Love to see you smile
Vrroom Vroom Vroom
Meow Meow Meow Meow....
ahhhh ahhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (Herbal Essences)
the beat 94.5
there's a lot more, so yes.
3. What would be your views on supporting a Buy Nothing Day?
I would rather be hit by a truck than support buy nothing day. (I get a kick out of Rick Mercer's footage of the Buy Nothing day organizers buying all their supplies (obviously it was their only option, but still funny...)
4. Are there any products that you refuse to buy because of a specific reason? e.g. **Nike because of human rights policies. **Martha Stewart products because of her involvement in insider trading. ** Foreign cars because you believe in "Buying Canadian or American, or British, or etc"
I refuse to shop at stores b/c of serveice and stuff like that, but I shop at the GAP Inc. family (that's Old Navy, GAP, banana Republic) and they've openly admitted to having 'unsatisfactory' working conditions over seas.
5. Do you think "Sex sells" in advertising? Please provide an example? *NOTE!! AN APPROPRIATE EXAMPLE**
Yes... It just does I don't even know
6. If you were going to buy something would you research/ locate the product
a) in the yellow pages?
No, too much work.
b) on line?
Research only
c) radio or t.v. ads?
They just influence my decision rather than give me legitimate information
7. When you go to the movies these days, do you object to the advertising before the movie starts... in the "trailers"?
No, but I object to paying $12 and then being subject to advertising.
8. Is wearing brand names important to you?
Yes... I like to think it's not, but everything I own is name brand. (Except Cadet Course T-Shirts...)
