Hey,

So, I've been away from CW for a short time now as I was travelling through the Atlantic provinces on my way to St. Thomas University. I've spent the last 24 hours settling into residence and so far so good as long as nobody realizes I'm up here on the net while everyone else is outside screaming and having fun while new people arrive. Really though... this place is great. Own bed, desk, closet and a shared bathroom/shower with my roommate. Not too bad at all.

How is everyone elses first day or two at residence going?

same old for me, except different place, but here's the good thing, 2 of my suite mates went to Seneca with me and are friends of mine, and we all got put in same room eventhough we forgot to write down eachothers names as who we want to live with, also living with us is a guy from Germany

Firstly, I wanted to say Yeah this is my first FULL day in Rez and it is awsome..I have 5 other roomates so it is a huge learning curve, but I figure I have done camp for 4 years so If I can handle 60 guys in 1 room, and can handel 6.

Most colleges and universities, if not all have own rooms, except you share a kitchen, bathroom, and living area with your roomates. That is how it is where I live. There are 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen/living room which we share.

That's what I figured, the wording threw me a bit.

I would have loved to live in a place like that. All the residences at Mount Allison have rooms (either double or single) with a shared bathroom per floor. There's at least 1 kitchen in the house, but everyone has to be on the meal plan. They just built a new residence that are kind of like suites with 2 rooms and a shared bathroom. Actually, for their house party they had to get porta-potties because there are no open bathrooms in the place.

That reminds me of when I was in res. Except I lived in a 20 floor building and we didnt have to be on the meal plan.

This is my fifth night. Rez rocks, except that my CA is a bit of a ****- She's trying to impose 24-hour quiet hours on us. Yeah, right. Just like nobody drinks.

LeBlanc, 11 in the basement, if anyone wants to drop by.

Oh- Julian, I'm not sure if I can make it tomorrow, but I'm going to try my best; I have a 7-10 class.

The thing with Emilie- we were going to meet, and she said she was bringing you along. Didn't she tell you?

She definitely forgot to inform me, haha. Next time though. I'd love to go, but I have to be in CP for cadets tomorrow night.

Awww ... this thread reminds me of my residence days as an innocent first year living in the party house.

- Waking up at 3 AM to people chanting our house song on a random Thursday.
- Having to step over unconscious bodies in the hallway to get to the bathroom.
- The smell of old beer in the stairwell after every weekend.
- The sticky floors that accompanied the old beer smell.
- Various house/floor theme parties that always ended up an excuse to dress like pimps & ho's
- Late night historical battle analysis aided by the NES.
- Centuries ... oh, so many centuries ...

Ah, the memories. :D

My side of 3rd Leeds finally woke up today, we actually partied on our own without those on the other side of the elevator... no longer are we the deprived wing of the floor

After four years of fun and torture (UNB Res Life equates pain with pleasure) I'm out. I finished my degree and found an apartment in which I can start the next. I must say I am enjoying it immensely, having outgrown the whole res bit.

Residence was a huge amount of fun, but much of the stupidity gets frustrating after a while.

I had such a great time in res my first year (barring a crappy roommate) that I didn't want to go back and risk not having as good of a time again. So I moved into an apartment with 2 of my friends from res, and another few people moved into the building too. Plus, we all go out as a floor still every now and again (like on each other's birthdays and stuff).

Yay for crappy roommates....mine had major issues *shudders* glad thats over but all and all my first year was an awesome experience...met a lot of great people...we havent had an alumni party yet, but people are starting to get bogged down with midterms. Next year I'm hoping to move into Newton its a university apartment building with my really good friend who just happened to be my FC for my first year. Oh and dodgeball freaking rocks :) I love Lister :)

Woot! Okay now that I am almost doen the first semester...this is what I can say.

First, going in res...did any of you have to fill out a survey about the roomates that would best suit your learning style?...well if yes, at Flemming College they don't listen to them!!!!! The amount of times I can't go to sleep until 4 in the morning is rduclous. Besides that I think my roomates are great.

Starting in January I will be moving to my own place in Peterborough. I am really nervous but also so excited..plus, oh yeah it has a Hot Tub Woot!!!

Soo....any other roomate/res experiences so far?

my roomates seem to like to party on Thursdays...i have to get up at 7:00 on Friday...it's not so great, but most of the time we get along pretty good...they even have the same taste in music as me....and they like alcohol!.....i'm legal age, so it's ok

The beginning of the year was great, now res just makes me sad and people tend to push buttons...so now I'm trying to move :(

i'm just getting to old for this...yay for second year apathy...

Rez is okay, i have some crappy room-mates, for example I had to get up one saturday morning to leave for a loggersports competion. I had to be up at 430am, and the partied in the room till about 400am so i just didnt sleep. The rest of time i just ignore my 5 yes 5 roomates.
